Tonight I'll be posting an in depth recommendation, but I thought I'd post a quick rec first. Summary: What could Peeta possibly need for his honeymoon? Lord knows. Good thing he's got such good friends, like Gale and Finnick, to help him figure it all out. Rated T for innuendo and buffoonery. Mind yer retinas. P/K. Very AU
Verdict: Peeta’s Honeymoon Survival Kit is a welcome break from all the heartfail and angst (and beware, it's freakishly AU - GASP! Everyone's alive!). It is a delightful ficlet that makes you gigglesnort and will warm your heart. Geeky-DMHG-Fan and Medea Smyke do a fantastic job of creating an alternate storyworld where Peeta and Katniss can be happy and pranks and hilarity can ensue. They also handles a big cast of characters with ease and gives everyone their own little moment. Peeta is just…amazingly hilarious in this, and I totally loved the interaction between him and his brothers. It’s an especially fantastic for those who’ve been through the hens and bucks night fiasco! This is definitely the fic to read if you’re looking for a good laugh.
Excerpt: Is everyone conspiring to ruin this moment? Yeah, because I've only been on the verge of death, captured by the Capitol, and all for the love of Katniss. No big deal. Fine, humiliate me with bizarre golden skirts, magic paint, and whatever. Steal my condoms. I'm a man. I can handle it.
